Please visit the Stop Killing Games website! This is not the kind of petitions you commonly see on the internet, this is a European Citizens' Initiative which could be very powerful. The Stop Killing Games initiative was launched almost a year ago (31 July 2024) by Ross Scott (Accursed Farms) to, in his own words, challenge the legality of publishers destroying video games they have sold to customers and requires at least 1 million signatures and 7 EU countries reaching their minimum thresholds before the 31st of July 2025! Should Stop Killing Games reach this goal, EU institutions responsible for making laws will have to take a serious look into it! This could mean the end of some scummy practices done by some publishers not only in the eu but worldwide too (remember what happened with apple and usb-c)! As of the 11th of July 2025, we reached the goal, with 1.3 million+ signatures and 24 EU countries having met their required thresholds (out of the 7 EU countries needed)!! But we're not done yet, some signatures may be invalidated due to errors! And with everything that has happened around the movement, we may set up a record unvalidated signatures on any European Citizens' Initatives. That is why we need to aim for 1.4 million signatures for safety precautions!! If you're from the EU or the UK, yes there actually is a UK petition, please sign the initiative! Also, whether you're EU citizen or not, please share the initiative with everyone you know, sharing still helps the initiative!
